From Tragedy to Thriving Business: My Journey with GabbyCrafts

When I first started GabbyCrafts, I had no idea it would grow into what it is today. I just knew I wanted to create and re-define my daughter’s memory to the world. But turning a tragedy into a full-fledged business came with unexpected lessons, challenges, and triumphs.

How My Love for Crafting and Digital Design Turned into a Thriving Business

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved making things with my hands. This love was established when I was a child growing up in the Redland Community in Alabama. Coloring, making clothes for my dolls, and even sewing on my first sewing machine my mom bought me, I found so much joy in the creative process.  Now with GabbyCrafts, I initially started makings things for myself and immediate family, but then people started asking, “Can you make one for me?” That’s when the lightbulb went off—maybe I could turn this into something bigger.

The Challenges of Balancing Creativity with Running a Business

I quickly learned that being creative and running a business are two completely different skill sets. It wasn’t enough to just make beautiful designs—I had to figure out how to market, sell, and manage everything. At first, I struggled with pricing, imposter syndrome, and the fear of putting my work out there. But over time, I developed systems, built confidence, and learned how to turn my sheer passion into a business that truly worked for me.

The Moment I Knew GabbyCrafts Was Something Big

The defining moment for me was when I made my first big sale. Someone I didn’t even know found my work online and placed an order. That sale wasn’t just about the money, it was proof that my work had value beyond just my inner circle. From that point on, I was determined to grow GabbyCrafts into something sustainable, meaningful, and profitable.

If you’re thinking about starting, take the leap—your creative passion could become your livelihood! GabbyCrafts has a plethora of resources to get you started in the direction of generational wealth and financial stability.
